Sakura Spotlight Series: Emily Harris

Emily Harris, aka Mrs. Emily, has a love of fashion for clothes that are comfortable, unique, and also chic. She took that love and dove headfirst into her own business making beautiful pieces that touch the lives of the women who wear them. We are so happy that she took the time to answer a few questions for us and can’t wait for you to get to know her.

  1. Tell us a little bit about your business and what you do.

I make distinctive clothes that are versatile and accessible so that women can confidently express their personalities through what they wear.

  1. What made you aspire to be an entrepreneur?

I don’t love being an entrepreneur. I don’t feel especially good at it, but my goals of having a work-life balance and my mission of bettering the world through making accessible fashion mean that I have to be an entrepreneur. So here we are!

  1. What is the one thing you wish you had known before starting your own business?

I’m so glad I didn’t know what I didn’t know. Starting this company has kicked my butt and if I knew how hard it was going to be, I would have been hesitant to sign on!

  1. What are the aspects of your business that you enjoy the most?

Seeing women in my clothing, and hearing their testimonies of feeling confident and comfortable to live their lives as the best version of themselves is by far the most encouraging and enjoyable part of my business.

  1. What do you love doing in your free time to refuel and have fun?

Work-life balance is really important to me. I pick my daughter up after school and we do homework together and hang out. I love cooking with my husband and daughter and am always trying new recipes. I also take care of my small jungle-sized stash of plants.
